For my recipients who are men.....

MARRIAGE

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly.

She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?

I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Jane. I didn't love her anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.

She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Jane.

When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.

She requested that every day for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Jane about my wife's divorce conditions. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.

My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mommy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside
the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office..

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me.

On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Jane about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit me... she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mom out.. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly.. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy.

I drove to office.... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind...I walked upstairs. Jane opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Jane, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Jane, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.

Jane seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.

At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife.. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.

That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead.
My wife had been fighting CANCER for months and I was so busy with Jane to even notice. She knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save me from the whatever negative reaction from our son, in case we push thru with the divorce.-- At least, in the eyes of our son--- I'm a loving husband....

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves.. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

If you don't share this, nothing will happen to you.

If you do, you just might save a marriage.
Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

A CHRIST-CENTERED MARRIAGE IS A MARRIAGE THAT IS SURE TO LAST A LIFETIME.

So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate. Matthew 19:6

@PeteHoekstra Responds to Desperate Attacks with Truth~ Help Pete- give today #MiFairTax #FairTax

Hoekstra for Governor
July 28, 2010

Dear Friends,

We are down to the final hours of the campaign and my opponents and their
third party interest groups are growing more desperate than ever. They have
spent millions of dollars in frantic attempts to distort my record and
mislead voters. But thanks to supporters like you, the people of Michigan
are not falling for it. These are serious times in Michigan and the last
thing people want are more negative and false campaigns.

You have been a tremendous support throughout this campaign, but our work is
not done yet. These third-party special interest groups have a great deal
of money to run false ads against me. They do not represent the people of
Michigan or their best interests and we must make sure that they do not win
- Michigan's future is depending on it. I need your immediate help to
combat these desperate attacks. With a donation of $20, $50 or even $100 you can help keep this race for governor positive.

While my opponents attempt to distract from scandals and don't have anything
positive to say, I am running a positive campaign, working to find real
solutions for our economy and I am proud to run on my record. I am 100 percent pro-life, I have at straight A rating with the NRA, and I have a 95 percent voting record during my time in Congress. Voters deserve to know the truth about the people they are
electing and that's why today I launched my new television ad "Truth." You
can watch the ad here.

Can you help me fight these shadowy special interest groups? Your donation
of $20, $50 or even $100 today will help keep our "Truth" ad on the air to fight these dishonest attacks. Every dollar that is raised will be directly spent on running this ad.

In addition, you can help by spreading the word and making sure that voters
across the state are receiving the real facts about my record. You can
also help by:

Friend to Friend e-postcards - This is an easy way to spread our positive
message. Simply pick a card, fill in the form with names and e-mail
addresses and send to your Michigan contacts.

Friend to Friend Cards - Grab the church directory, school directory or your
address book and send friend to friend cards. Contact Kris at kris.rose@hoekstraforgovernor.com today to get yours in time.

Phone calls - Team Hoekstra is on the phone day and night reaching out to
voters. Please consider giving an hour or two of your time to help us.
This is a productive use of your time to get Pete elected. PHONE CALL
LOCATIONS

We are almost to our August 3rd election day, let's finish strong!
Remember, Michigan's future begins with us.

Sincerely,

Pete Hoekstra

P.S. Your donation of $20, $50 or even $100 can help us stay on the air and tell Michigan voters the TRUTH.

#Mi01, Results of a Poll That Really Matters ~Tom Stillings for Congress

Share this on:
Fellow Michiganders,

There have been several discussions recently touting that a straw poll placed Jason Allen and and Dan Benishek in a near tie in Michigan's 1st Congressional race. What few of the stories really discuss is either the details or the validity of the poll.

The poll, conducted by Inside Michigan Politics/Practical Political Consulting (IMP/PPC), was a robo-poll to 3000 households in the district. Of these, they received only 132 respondents. Of those 132 respondents, over 50% selected undecided. Are these results statistically valid? How were the phone numbers chosen, do they represent likely voters, do they adequately represent the vast geography of the 1st Congessional District? Even the publisher, Bill Ballenger was quoted in a MIRS story that these are "second-rate polls". He goes on to say, "that no independent pollsters are doing the congressional districts because it's too expensive." That is to say, this is not a valid, nor an independent poll.

Another poll was taken recently. Independence Caucus, a grassroots organization of individuals fed up with politicians corrupted by "Big Money", carefully vetted the candidates in the 1st district. The vetting process consists of an 80 question questionnaire which the candidate must complete in writing. If the candidate agrees with at least 70% of the positions stated in the questionnaire, he or she is invited to an interview.

Four candidates in the 1st District were invited to interview. An interview committee, made up of Michigan Independence Caucus volunteers, questioned each candidate individually for over an hour. Questions covered issues about the constitution, taxes, federal spending, bailout of private companies, individual liberties and many more.

Each interview was recorded and all Michigan Independence Caucus members were able to to listen to the interviews, discuss the candidates and then vote. Results of the first round of voting were:
  • Tom Stillings 36%
  • Linda Goldthorpe 28%
  • Dan Benishek 25%
  • Jason Allen 11%
Because no candidate received at least 60% of the vote, a runoff between the top two candidates (Stillings and Goldthorpe) was scheduled. Before the runoff could be completed, Linda Goldthorpe suspended her campaign. So the runoff was instead scheduled between the first and third candidates (Stillings and Benishek respectively).

Once the votes were counted, Tom Stillings received 68% of the vote to Benishek's 32%. Thus Tom Stillings received the Independence Caucus endorsement.

The Independence Caucus vote is a valid statewide poll of informed voters who do and will vote in the primary. After their thorough review of the candidates mentioned, the participants identified Tom Stillings as the most fiscally responsible, constitutionally-minded candidate in Michigan's 1st Congressional District. He is a private citizen who does not and will not accept donations in exchange for political influence. Nor is he a wealthy individual who has donated large sums of money to his own campaign.

Any interested citizen can listen to Tom's interview here.

Tom Stillings is the strongest candidate to represent Michigan's 1st District. Please vote for him on August 3.

Chrysler / Fraud from the Obama Administration exposed

Chrysler's Railroad

This could be a scandal of epic proportions and one that makes Nixon's

Watergate or Clinton 's Monica Lewinsky affair pale by comparison. Why

Was there neither rhyme nor reason as to which dealerships of the Chrysler

Corporation were to be closed?

Roll the clock back to the weeks just before Chrysler declared bankruptcy.
Chrysler,

Like GM, was in dire financial straits and federal government "graciously"
offered

To "buy the company" and keep them out of bankruptcy and "save jobs."

Chrysler was, in the words of Obama and his administration,

"Too big to fail," same story with GM.

The feds organized their "Automotive Task Force" to fix Chrysler and GM.
Obama,

In an act that is 100% unconstitutional, appointed a guy named Steve Rattner

To be the White House's official Car Czar - literally, that's what his title
is.

Rattner is the liaison between Obama, Chrysler, and GM.

Initially, the national media reported that Chrysler 'had made this list of
dealerships'.

Not true!

The Washington Examiner, Newsmax, Fox New and a host of other news agencies

Discovered that the list of dealerships was put together by the "Automotive
Task

Force" headed by no one other than Mr.. Steve Rattner.

Now the plot thickens.

Remember earlier we said that there was neither rhyme nor reason why certain

Dealerships were closed?

Actually there's a very interesting pattern as to who was closed down.
Again,

On May 27, 2009, The Washington Examiner and Newsmax exposed the connection.

Amazingly, of the 789 dealerships closed by the federal government, 788

Had donated money, exclusively to Republican political causes, while
contributing

Nothing to Democratic political causes. The only "Democratic" dealership on
the

List was found to have donated $7,700 to Hillary's campaign, and a bit over
$2,000 to

John Edwards. This same dealership, reportedly, also gave $200.00 to Obama's
campaign.

Does that seem a little odd to you?

Steve Rattner is the guy who put the list together. Well, he happens to

Be married to a Maureen White.

Maureen happens to be the former national finance chairman of the Democratic

National Committee. As such, she has access to campaign donation records
from

Everyone in the nation- Republican or Democrat. But of course, this is

Just a wacky "coincidence," we're certain.

Then comes another really wacky "coincidence."

On that list of dealerships

Being closed down, a weird thing happened in Arkansas , North Louisiana ,
and

Southern Missouri.  It seems that Bill Clinton's former White House Chief

Of Staff, Mack McClarty, owns a chain of dealership in that region,
partnered

With a fellow by the name of Robert Johnson.

Johnson happens to be founder of Black Entertainment Television and

Was a huge Obama supporter and financier.

These guys own a half dozen Chrysler stores under the company title of

RLJ-McClarty-Landers. Interestingly, none of their dealerships

Were ordered closed - not one!

While all of their competing Chrysler/Dodge and Jeep dealership were!

Eight dealerships located near the dealerships owned by McClarty and Johnson

Were ordered shut down.

Thus by pure luck, these two major Obama supporters now have virtual

Monopoly on Chrysler sales in their zone.  Isn't that amazing?

Go look in The Washington Examiner, the story's there, and it's in a dozen

Or so other web-based news organizations; this isn't being made up.

Now if you thought Chrysler was owned by Fiat, you are mistaken. Under

The federal court ruling, 65% of Chrysler is now owned by the federal

Government and the United Auto Workers union!

Fiat owns 20%.

The other 15% is still privately owned and presumably will be traded

On the stock market. Obama smiles and says he doesn't want to run the auto
industry.

As horrifying as this is to comprehend, and being as how this used to

Be the United States of America , it would appear that the president has the

Power to destroy private businesses and eliminate upwards of 100,000 jobs

Just because they don't agree with his political agenda.

This is Nazi Germany stuff, and it's happening right here, right now, in our
back yard.

There are voices in Washington demanding an explanation, but the "Automotive

Task Force" has released no information to the public or to any of the
senators

Demanding answers for what has been done.

Keep your ear to the ground for more on this story. If you've ever wanted to

Make a difference about anything in your life, get on the phone to your

National senator or representative in the House and demand an investigation
into this.

Benjamin Franklin had it right when he said, "All that's necessary for evil
to triumph

Is for good men to do nothing."

Car Czar No More

An amazing thing happened as this story was going to press. Obama's Car
Czar,

Steve Rattner, resigned on July 13 and was promptly replaced by former

steel workers union boss Ron Bloom.

According to CBS News, Rattner left "to return to private life and

spend time with his family."

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner said, "I hope that he takes another
opportunity

to bring his unique skills to government service in the future."

By the way, Rattner is under investigation for a multi-million dollar

pay-to-play investment bank scandal in New York ...

Uh-oh!

But, we're certain that had nothing to do with his resignation.

And, according to several news sources out there, there are rumors he's
being

investigated for what could be pay-to-play scandal involving the closing of

Chrysler and GM dealerships. Really? Again, that couldn't have anything

to with his resignation-that's ridiculous! Like CBS said, this guy just

wants to "spend more quality time with his family."

Obama has 32 personally appointed "czars" who answer to no one but

him, all of whom are acting without any Constitutional authority.

But hey, we're sure they all have "unique skills,"......as Tim Geithner
likes to say!

SOOOOO.  HOW'S THE CHANGE WORKING FOR YOU?..

Check it out at the following websites.....

This goes beyond corruption in

high places - to gross criminal actions on the part of our government!

I hope you will spread this far and wide, and hopefully the taxpaying

public will demand some of that transparency we were

promised......followed by criminal prosecution of the perpetrators!

What a crooked government we have!!!!!  Vote 'em all out...November, 2010

Return to God
by James Robison

For many months I have been expressing deep concern for the spiritual condition of both the church and our nation. I believe with all my heart we are headed in the wrong direction. The only hope for a return to sanity, stability and security is for the church to awaken and truly pierce the darkness with God's love and God's truth. There is no other way to see the tide turned.

FairTax Leader Rob Woodall Needs Our Help in Election for Congress.

FairTax Political Action, Neal Boortz, FairTax Bill Author Congressman John Linder All Campaign Hard for

FairTax Champion Rob Woodall

In a hard fought Republican Primary last Tuesday in Georgia, FairTax Leader Rob Woodall finished first handily winning nearly 40% of the vote in a seven way election with tough, well known and well funded opponents.

The runoff will take place August 10th.  The District is very safely Republican so we can be certain that if he wins the runoff Rob will be the next Congressman.

Rob Woodall is known as The FairTax Republican Candidate for Congress.  Why? He has been Ten years Chief of Staff to the author of the FairTax Bill in Congress,   Congressman John Linder.  Rob was the Co-Leader of the Linder-Woodall Tax Revolt Team in the Great April 15 Tax Day Tax Revolt March for America, the biggest Tax Revolt Event in U. S. History!
And Rob was the Co-author with Radio Hall of Fame Talkmaster Neal Boortz and Congressman of the bestselling book ever on the FairTax.
The runoff election is in just two weeks, so there is no resting.  Click right here, right now to donate or volunteer to help Rob.
With the retirement of the author of the FairTax Bill in Congress, John Linder, the election of Rob to Congress is critical to make sure we have this great, knowledgeable FairTax Champion in our corner when the new Congress opens in January.
Thank you!
The runoff election is in just two weeks, so there is no resting.  Click right here, right now to donate or volunteer to help Rob.

Federal Spending? Out of Control Massive Tax Hikes? They're Coming Answer? The FairTax

The political fortunes of Washington insiders from both parties are at risk according to recent polls (see "In the News" below). Faced with high unemployment, skyrocketing national debt and more and more talk about taking even more out of our pockets in taxes to pay for out of control spending -- including new luxury jets for a junket loving Congress The American people have had it.

As frustrated and angry as the American people are right now, few besides those in the FairTax campaign have offered a solution. Many citizens, it seems are waiting for those at the top to lead the country to a real economic recovery that helps more than those who caused the meltdown in the first place: Washington insiders and the political elite. The stage is set for a massive upheaval at the polls this November…but will the alternative be any better than the status quo?

Many Republicans say they have now remembered what their party once espoused—smaller government and fiscal restraint. Many Democrats are publicly worrying about the growing national debt which now costs 62% of the gross Domestic Product (GDP) to service. But the Washington culture of spending out of the national treasury to win election and re-election, to spend taxpayer dollars on lavish Congressional perks and to continue to sell off pieces of the corrupted tax code for profit and power seems immune to voter anger…because a viable alternative is not well enough known to be embraced by the majority of Americans.

The FairTax can save the nation's economy, restore the role of the American citizen and bring irresponsible spending to a stop through consumer pressure on elected officials. Given Washington's resistance to this desperately needed idea—or even a Congressional hearing to examine the idea fairly—it's enough to make FairTaxers want to scream.

Scream away!

Take our message of reform and renewal of the American economy to candidates who are now looking for voter support to either hold on to their jobs or replace those who now have those jobs. Let no campaign stop for any candidate of either party go unvisited by citizens wearing FairTax T-Shirts and ball caps. Take to the airwaves in calls to every local and national talk show host. Let newspaper editors around the nation hear from us and let's talk more to those outside the FairTax campaign on websites and blogs.

Tell all those who will listen or be made to listen that the FairTax will pull trillions of dollars, now offshore, into our economy and get Americans back to work. Tell them that when we take home far fatter paychecks without any federal withholding deducted we will permanently stimulate the American economy. Tell them that the FairTax eliminates Congressional corruption of the tax code and gives the "Made in America" label a fighting chance.

Tell your neighbors and your friends and colleagues. Talk to individuals, groups and organziations who frequently are looking for guest speakers. Use the FairTax TV show. Ask them to help by joining FairTax.org as well as state and local FairTax groups. Draw a circle that encompasses every American citizen, not one that excludes anyone because the FairTax is good for all.

Primary foes upset GOP favorite in race for Rep. Linder's seat
From The Hill
By Shane D'Aprile - 07/20/10 11:06 PM ET

In a surprise on Tuesday, the former chief of staff to retiring Rep. John Linder (R-Ga.) finished first in a crowded Republican primary, but it wasn't enough to avoid an August runoff.

Rob Woodall won 37 percent of the vote with radio host Jody Hice coming in second at 26 percent. State Rep. Clay Cox won't even make it into the August runoff, finishing third with 20 percent of the vote.

Cox was considered the frontrunner in the 7th District, though most observers thought a runoff was likely. Cox was a favorite of Tea Party groups in the state and had the backing of the state's GOP establishment, including Gov. Sonny Perdue and state House Speaker David Ralston.

Cox was in Washington, D.C., last week for a fundraiser at the Capitol Hill Club.

Hice, a former minister, stirred controversy earlier this week with a billboard campaign referencing President Obama. The billboards asked, "Had enough of Obama's change?" The "c" in the word change was replaced with a hammer and sickle.

Linder officially endorsed his former chief of staff Woodall in April.

Nearly 6 in 10 Lack Confidence in Obama to Make Right Decisions
From Politics Daily
Bruce Drake - Contributing Editor

Nearly 6 in 10 Americans say they have "just some" or no confidence in President Obama to make the right decisions for the country, and they give even lower marks to congressional Republicans and Democrats, according to a Washington Post/ABC News poll conducted July 7-11.

Fifty-seven percent of those polled put themselves in the "just some" or "none at all" columns as far as their trust in Obama, while 43 percent say they have a great deal or good amount of confidence in him. That's a dip since January, when 53 percent said they had little or no confidence in Obama and 47 percent said they did.

When it comes to lawmakers on Capitol Hill, 73 percent had just some or no confidence in congressional Republicans to make the right decisions for the country and, by a 67 percent to 32 percent margin, the public held the same negative view of Democrats.

Ninety percent of Americans consider the state of the economy as not so good or poor, and they disapprove of Obama's handling of the issue by 54 percent to 43 percent, with 4 percent undecided. Forty-one percent describe themselves as "strongly" disapproving of Obama's performance on the economy. In early June, Americans were split, with 50 percent approving and 49 percent disapproving.

A separate CBS News poll, conducted July 9-12, said 54 percent disapproved of Obama's handling of the economy compared to 45 percent who approved, with the number of independents who approved dropping to 35 percent. Those who approved of Obama's performance dropped five points since last month.

The Post/ABC survey said the public trusts the Democrats more than the Republicans on the economy by 42 percent to 34 percent, with 3 percent trusting both, 17 percent trusting neither and 3 percent undecided. That hasn't changed much since March, but it's a big drop for Democrats compared to February 2008, when the new Congress was getting underway and they were trusted more than Republicans on the economy by a margin of 52 percent to 33 percent..

Looking ahead to the midterm elections, the poll's generic congressional ballot has Republicans ahead of Democrats by 47 percent to 46 percent when it comes to which candidate registered voters would choose. The margin of error is 3.5 points. In early June, Democrats led by 47 percent to 44 percent.

Around the Nation

The Grass Roots Freedom Ride for FairTax traveled through desert, desert and more desert this week, made worse by the heat wave that hit Arizona, with highway temperatures reaching 118 degrees! Traveling from Phoenix to the Hoover Dam after many miles on Historic Route 66 (great photos!), we encountered a traffic jam at this historic site in 114 degree heat - a dangerous situation for someone exposed to the elements. Please remember to be kind to bikers when the weather isn't! We extend a special thanks to David Harvey in Houston who lent Mike a cooling vest for this intense part of the journey.

From Hoover Dam, we traveled to Las Vegas, where we met up with a lively group of FairTax supporters at Arlen Ness Motorcycles, a shop with an iconic owner in the motorcycle world.  Robert Sweeney, a reporter for QuickThrottleMagazine, wrote up an article to be published next month. A representative from Nevada SonsofLibertyRiders and a photographer from the magazine joined us for another desert ride to Nipton, CA at the Whistlestop Oasis Cafe from the late 1800's. At the next stop in Pasadena, Tea Party Patriots met us at the old City Hall, where we challenged them to take a position on Tax Reform. Read about the event in the Pasadena Star News. We're finding many in the tea party movement are unaware of the FairTax.

Riding out of the Los Angeles area on the 210 Highway, we got more "thumbs up" from passers-by than normal.  California is ready for real tax reform and FairTax. Traveling this land of extremes, by day's end we were in 57 degree weather on the central coast - half the temperature we found a few days earlier when we entered the state.  Today, we leave Petaluma CA, and the FairTax Bike has 11,000+ miles for FairTax since June 2nd!

Remember to guess where the FairTax Bike is and how many miles the Grass Roots Freedom Ride has traveled. Your winning guess gets you $200 in FairTax supplies, delivered to you! Go to the "Where is the FairTax Bike" contest!  You can also support the FairTax through the FairTax Bike, where Americans are meeting up to bring government back to the people! Check out all the photos at Facebook Grass Roots Freedom Ride Photos as well.

Find the current Route at http://www.grassrootsfreedomride.com/2010overview, or join the SOLR Group for updates and communication about the rides and events.  Your involvement is needed and appreciated!  We'll see you there!  Ride Safe!

Did You Know?
How does the income tax affect our economy?

How does dragging an anchor affect the speed of a ship? Our entire economy is not dependent on the income tax. Instead, our economy is held back by the income tax. There was no income tax for the first 124 years of our history -- that's more than half the time we have existed as a nation. A study by the Government Accountability Office estimated that the federal tax system imposed efficiency costs on the U.S. economy of two to five percent of GDP. Under the FairTax, within ten years average Americans will be at least 10 percent and probably 15 percent better off than they would be under the current system. That translates to an increase of $3,000 to $4,500 per household, per year.
