They immediately called their parents! | FairTax Friday 11/8/2013

They Immediately Called Their Parents!

One interesting phenomena about the FairTax® campaign is the number of Americans who have consistently understood why the FairTax is superior to the current income tax system.

These individuals have watched our tax code balloon to nearly 74,000 pages, while experiencing a lifetime of financial loss as a consequence of a tax system that continuously grinds down our economy and is grotesquely distorted by special interests controlled carve outs, exemptions and loopholes.

And, in case you missed it, this same tax code will soon explode to well over 100,000 pages after the inclusion of ObamaCare regulations.

One must ask if young people truly understand the magnitude of the tax code and economic problems they are inheriting - do they care?

A few weeks ago I attended the annual meeting of the Oklahoma FairTax organization. One attendee, Charles Corte, shared details about a recent FairTax presentation he made in Tulsa.

FairTax supporters make educational presentations every day. That's our primary mission. But Corte's experience was unique. He established an age restriction, only inviting young people in his church between the ages of 20 and 30.

He hoped that 5 people would attend; yet 30 came. He told them he would only speak for 45 minutes, period! He concluded the meeting and they asked questions for nearly an hour and half after the meeting ended! The meeting wound up lasting approximately 2 hours and when it was over, attendees immediately called their parents and told them they must hear what Corte had to say. He is now scheduling another presentation with the parents and expects over 100 people to attend!

The young people who attended Corte's FairTax meeting were extremely eager to learn. Corte, who retired from the U.S. Air Force headquarter recruiting and war planning, has a unique perspective on how to present to this age group.

Charles Corte

As he said, "I only spoke for a few minutes. The remainder of the meeting I posed questions and scenarios designed so they would draw the answers from within." He added, "I have learned that when talking with young people, if you can pose questions incorporating examples from their everyday life, they will quickly understand complex principles and the impact they will have on them."

Great advice Charles!

I hear over and over from FairTax supporters who are concerned about what will happen to their children and grandchildren if the FairTax does not become law. I agree.

But folks, if we do not actively help these future generations understand why, for 100 years, the income tax system has failed our nation and how the FairTax Plan can pave a path of economic prosperity, then who will? Charles Corte has set a phenomenal example of how we FairTaxers can help young people find the truth.

Time is short and the need is great. I'm reminded of Galileo who once said, "You cannot teach a man anything, you can only help him find it within himself."

Volunteer Spotlight: Harry In Michigan

Recently, one of our supporters in Michigan, a gentleman named Harry, shared with us how his Representative and others continue to inaccurately state the FairTax hurts the poor. He forwarded a copy of his response. We thought you would enjoy.

MI FairTax

To whom it may concern:

I'm a blind man here in Michigan. I'm on Social Security, a fixed income. I'm writing to you to say that I support the FAIR TAX. It's a national sales tax that will be collected at the state level, because the states already collect sales taxes. The FairTax gets rid of the following taxes, thankfully:

The federal personal income tax. The federal corporate income tax. The Social Security payroll tax. The AMT. The gift tax. The inheritance tax.

It also gets rid of the IRS, which will save billions of dollars!

I know that one of the obstacles to passing it is the argument that it'll hurt the poor. Well, I'm *POOR* here, on a fixed income due to my blindness.

I would love to pay the 23% tax on the new things I buy. At least I'd be doing my fair share, and no longer would any American have to pay the taxes I mentioned above! Working people will finally be able to keep all of their paychecks!

People will be able to start businesses and not have to pay income taxes, and the other taxes they now have to pay. They will only have to pay the national sales tax. Business owners will be able to hire millions of workers, because they'll have money to pay them with, compared to the income tax, (flat tax or the current system), which takes away income to be able to hire workers.

Also, people will not be taxed for giving money to someone, and they will give money away in droves.

Besides, Americans will get a monthly prebate to offset the FairTax on necessities. And to tell you the truth, I don't even want the prebate, I just look forward to paying the national sales tax! Now when have you ever heard of any American who is excited about paying a tax? Well, you have now, I look forward to it!

So, go ahead and let's scrap the current tax code, and the IRS, and get the FAIRTAX on the books.

Take care and God bless,

Harry from Michigan

The FairTax Act In The Media

It's now time to support the FairTax  - The Western News

The FairTax is a plan whose time has come.  It would replace the income tax and abolish the IRS shortly after being adopted.

It's a national sales tax and would be collected by the states at the cash register when you check out…

The FairTax is nonpartisan. It's not a Democrat or Republican idea. It's strictly an American idea consistent with our founding fathers' ideas on taxation.  Google FairTax to learn more.

Most importantly, contact your representative and senators.  Tell them to get the FairTax legislation out of the House Ways and Means Committee and onto the floor of the House for consideration by the full Congress and the American people.

If your congressmen don't support the FairTax, well… the 2014 primaries are only months away.

The major difference between the Flat Tax and the Fair Tax is one taxes income and the other taxes consumption. A flat income tax requires accountability, reporting, privacy invasion, enforcement, penalties, punishment. A consumption tax (Fair Tax) doesn't.
The Fair Tax repeals all taxes on income including personal and corporate taxes, payroll taxes, capital gains tax, estate tax, gift tax and other direct taxes on income. 'No income tax' means no embedded (hidden) taxes in the price of goods and services…

The Fair Tax already has 74 co-sponsors, while the Flat Tax has 10, so tell me which one the American People want…
